Most of us had never played the game before; but after figuring out the rules of the road, we had a blast, plotting to put up road blocks, accumulating miles and fixing flat tires. I purchased this card game for several members(ages 9 and up - male and female) of my family over the Christmas holidays.
It is a lot of fun and if you are not careful, could be loud. get it. Have fun. My husband introduced me to this game about 27 years ago and he learned it at least 25 years prior to that. and "coup-fourré" (French for "counter-thrust") Get the game. if you want a game to entice conversation and competition. travel 1000 miles and watch out for the obstacles.
Earning enough miles to get to your destination is sometimes a little more difficult then one thought. It's a good buy. If you can find it for $8 to $11. So many obstacles. I've looked.
It was a Parker Brothers game a heap of years ago. Oh you won't find it in stores, not in Southern California. However, we as adults. (smile). I would not recommend for children who can't read or reason (at least age 8) or they could get frustrated.
I imagine his wife will have to learn to love it as well. Supplier was quick, efficient, and product arrived as expected in ample time. This is a game we played with our children and spent many hours laughing and bonding. Very happy to know it is still out there. Experience was superb all around. It is different, fun, and very portable. I sent each son one this year with their Christmas goodies and got to see the oldest, now an adult, glow with recognition and exclaim over the surprise.
Great for all ages and groups. You don't have to speak French to enjoy this card game. Played this game when first married and couldn't find it until now. Gave it to all the families and know they will have hours of fun and laughs.
It is a great game to share with friends and family. I was very impressed when I saw a reprint of Mille Bornes.
